What is National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS)?

The National Navigation Award Scheme is a well-established training programme that helps people learn to navigate using maps and a compass.

It’s a structured, skills-based pathway created by experienced mountain professionals, and trusted by outdoor centres, schools, Duke of Edinburgh groups, and mountain leaders across the UK.

When you complete an NNAS course, you gain a certificate that proves your navigation skills — and gives you the confidence to explore new places safely.
